Distorter Shader

Another Shader reminder, The Distorter Effect.
No idea how this could be useful, but you never know.

Follow up:

In the effects shaders you will find the Distorter shader. Just fill the channels with other shaders and have fun.

distorter

I used it in the above example to distort lines with noise. But there is probably a lot more possibilities to this shader.

I animated the "Amount" slider with keyframes.

The amount slider can give the following results;

You could use it for lightning or high voltage electicity.

I use it all the time to slightly mess up patterns like tiles or cells so they're not so uniform. Also adds some wiggle and randomness to noises like cranial and the dot-like ones like the Voronios. Don't forget about the turbulance on things like the Gradient too.

Dear Base,
your Distorter Shader is probably what I'm looking for a new animation. I just wondering about "Amount" slider , can not find how to in animation viewer.
What you're showing on your website is great for absolutely beginner like me. Xpresso is a world to discover.
Best regards,
Christophe.

ps: Of course I can send you the file if you want to see the purpose of my question.

thanks for thr revelation, although I've thought to use this distorter, I for some reason never have, seems like the perfect way to "un-perfect" the shaders, etc-cz
