Text-Nodes

Here are the long awaited Text-Nodes.

Follow up:

There is a set of two nodes, Text-In and Text-Out.
What they do is read from a text file and write to a text file.
The can help import text-based data such as converted spreadsheets, any xml file, converted midi, and many more.
The the text-out can be used to store data from anything within cinema4d to a text file so it can be reused in other software.
I made a long in-depth tutorial in the August'05 magazine of 3DAttack with some nice examples.
These nodes are made by Rui-Mac.

Then there is a set of nodes that give the actual time and date, and there is a node that gives the name of the document.
These nodes can be useful to add a "signature" on your renderings.
These are made by Tengaal.

The text-in and Text-out nodes are really for people who know a bit of xpresso. There are some examples on CGTalk and 3dAttack of how the nodes are used to import AE camera positions and more.

Great node! Although I am struggling with Xpresso so that we can pass values (floats or integer) from a text file to object attributes like position, height...
Is there a mean to get Xpresso to recognize numbers rather than characters?

Thank you very much for sharing all these nodes and codes

I wrote a long article on handling text strings in the August 2005 3d Attack magazine.
It is about how to parse text (cut, copy, paste, count and cut,...)

Hi - Very excited about handling strings and parsing text in xpresso - I'm working on interactions between text, typography and sound. I looked for the article you mentioned above but their back issues only go to 2006. Is there anywhere I could find this article? It would be a huge help for me. Thanks. - J
