PhotoMatch Tut 3 Light & White

This is not a very scientific tutorial but could be helpful to determine the overall color of your light and the direction it is coming from.

Follow up:

In the above image I tried to make the color and direction of my light match the background picture.

What you need to do is copy from the picture the value of the color that comes the closest to white (1. 2 or 3). As you can see these are far from being white and that is exactly the point. In my case I chose 2 because I wanted to build stuff on the table. Then paste this color in your light in c4d.

Second thing is to look closely at the image to determine where the light comes from. The corner of the table is a good starting point, I tried to position my (area) light as to get the same on my volumes.

Then you can see (green arrow) what kind of shadows should be generated by the light(s) I used area shadows.
So it is really an exercise of careful observation.
